Carrie Tolstedt, 56, head of community banking with Wells Fargo & Co. will retire from the firm this month. She will be succeeded Mary Mack who is in charge of the retail brokerage.

 San Francisco based Wells Fargo's Chief Executive Officer, John Stumpf said, "Carrie Tolstedt has been one of our most valuable Wells Fargo leaders, a standard-bearer of our culture, a champion for our customers, and a role model for responsible, principled and inclusive leadership."

Cleveland, Ohio based KeyCorp and Buffalo, New York based Niagara Financial Group, Inc. announced that the Federal Reserve has given regulatory approval to KeyCorp to complete its merger with First Niagara.   

The deal is expected to close August 1. KeyCorp expects to begin the process of merging the two systems and customer accounts in Q4.

Johnson Controls, the multinational conglomerate with a global presence producing automotive parts like batteries and electronics announced that it has agreed to pay $14.4 million to settle regulatory charges with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission linked to issues of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The company self reported issues connected to the company's marine business in China accepting that its workers paid Chinese shipbuilders and shipyards, some of which are Chinese government owned, in order to get business.
