Activision Blizzard Inc, the videogame maker lifted its forecast for the full-year earnings for 2014 as the company posted better-than-expected results for the third-quarter. The positive results can be greatly attributed to the burly sales of "Destiny" and also to the rising numbers of subscribers for "World of Warcraft".
The third quarter sales figure of LinkedIn Corp. was lifted by the new addition of its business lines. The news content and client-management services of the company intended for salespeople helped the profit to surpass the estimates of the analysts.
Citigroup, the investment banker has trimmed its earnings for the third-quarter $600 million. It said that investigations that have been conducted by the regulators in the recent months have forced it to alter the results which it had reported previously in the month.
The shares of Urban Outfitters Inc. dropped following an announcement of a sales slump which continued in the third quarter. This is a big threat for the apparel company as its profit may take a hit. In August the retailer reported a decline in its profit margin and the same-store sales dropped ten percent.
