Emirates to double daily flights to Jakarta

Emirates-AirlinesUnited Arab Emirates-based Emirates Airline has announced to provide better connectivity between Indonesia and UAE by launching twice daily flights from Jakarta to Dubai from March 1 in line with government's plans to increase arrivals from Middle Eastern countries by up to 100,000 in 2010. The airline operated 11 times in a week in 2009.

Emirates Airlines, in a bid to woo customers, have announced special family discount of 50 per cent to over 30 destinations. The move would help UAE residents to travel at affordable rates with their family members in Business or First Class.

The family fare offer would be effective up to January 15 over destinations including Amman, Damascus, Tehran, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Singapore, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Munich, Maldives, Karachi, Doha, Muscat, Hyderabad and Kozhikode.

Emirates Airline inks ‘Code Share Partnership’ with V Australia

Dubai-based Emirates Airline has entered into a code share partnership with Virgin Blue Group’s new international airline, V Australia, on the trans-Tasman route applicable from 25, October 2009.

The code share agreement, which is Emirates’ first with an Australian carrier – will provide V Australia guests connections when traveling between New Zealand and the USA.

Avis, a leading rental car company in the UAE, has signed a five-year UAE-based chauffeur drive partnership with Emirates airline.

As per the deal, Avis will provide a fleet of high quality chauffeur driven vehicles for Emirates' first and business class passengers.

A company official stated in a release that all provided chauffeurs are multilingual and well trained in defensive driving techniques as well as various aspects of customer service, to ensure they meet the exacting standards of Emirates airline.

Australian price fixing charge denied by Emirates

As per the media reports, Gulf-based airline Emirates is determined to fight the allegations leveled against it by Australia's regulator, which say that the airline fixed air cargo prices.

In an emailed document, the Dubai-based carrier said: “Emirates denies the allegations and will be defending the proceedings. It does not intend to make any further comment given that the matter is before the court.”

Emirates-Virgin Blue deal offers 'Australia pass'

Emirates Airline has announced that it has inked mutual agreement with Australian budget airline Virgin Blue with the aim to introduce "Emirates Visit Australia Pass", which will provide unprecedented access to the country.

The sources said that the move takes the interline agreement inked between the two airlines last month a step forward, with the pass offering domestic connections to 22 additional Australian destinations on Virgin Blue from all four Australian cities served by Emirates: Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
