Etihad Airways to increase flight capacity

Etihad-Airways-LogoEtihad Airways has announced to add it capacity by 60 per cent providing better services between Manchester and Abu Dhabi from June. The carrier would introduce a B777-300, having a capacity of 412 passengers, in its fleet replacing 262-seater A330-200 aircraft.

Etihad to Charge Passengers for a Second Baggage

The UAE's national carrier, Etihad Airways, is cited to consider charging passengers for a second piece of baggage in a view to boost its revenue, as weakening yields continue to put airlines in troubling waters in 2010, claims a top official.

"It will be a tough year but we're bullish", James Hogan said. "Like any other business we'll have to focus on our cost but we're also growing as a business".

Service started by Etihad's new private first class suite

This month saw the commencement of Etihad Airways' luxury first class suites on its Airbus A340-600 service, which operates between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow.

Customers who travel in the state-of-the- art private suite, get an extra-large leather seat, which can be extended to a fully-flat 80.5 inch bed, along with an extra large wood-finished table for dining.

Furthermore, each suite has a 23 inch wide-screen LCD screen, with in-flight entertainment offering over 600 hours of on-demand programmes.

Code-sharing pact signed by Etihad, American Airlines

A code sharing agreement has been signed by the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) national carrier, Etihad Airways, with the American Airlines. With this agreement, the travelers from the region would benefit a lot.

The airline confirmed via a statement that it will be from this week that the new agreement will come into effect. By 2nd September, Ethiad Airways will commence its first fights to Chicago.
