Microsoft Extends the Mainstream Support for Office 2007

As per recent reports, it has been announced that the company, Microsoft has increased the mainstream support period of Office 2007 by six months.
It has been discovered that the company has launched a new support policy, under which this decision was brought into action.
However, no reports have been obtained regarding the time when the mainstream support of Office 2007 was extended.
Complaints Against Google

The Microsoft Corp. is prepared to make the battle against Google Inc. legal. They have filed a complaint related to the ongoing anti-competition investigation by the European Commission. The commission has been investigating Google’s control of the online search engine market.
Anti-piracy raid by Microsoft Gulf

Microsoft Gulf worked in collaboration with a member of the Business Software Alliance (BSA) and the anti-piracy authorities in Dubai to raid an IT reseller based in Bur Dubai, which was accused to be selling counterfeit Microsoft products.
The consequence of the raid was 125 pieces of perhaps pirated Microsoft software getting confiscated. The software comprised of Windows XP, Windows 7 and Office 2010 among others.
A New Application for Handsets Running Windows Phone 7 OS - SlingPlayer

Now, those having handsets equipped with Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 operating system will have a new application in their store called SlingPlayer Mobile, whose availability was announced recently by Sling Media Inc.
The time, the first Windows Phone 7 handsets marked its presence in the US and Canada, the new application was available on the Windows Phone Marketplace then only for purchasing and downloading.

Tech giant, Microsoft has dismissed rumors that its recently launched Kinect game controller for Xbox 360 favors one race over another.
Some reports associated with the launch of Microsoft's Kinect for Xbox 360 claimed that the systems sensor had problems recognizing some of the dark skinned users, resulting in speculation that the device is racist.
HP might come up with next version of Slate 500

Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer recently released an HP tablet at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, which appeared to resemble the Apple iPad and boasted of Windows 7.
HP termed the tablet was named as the Consumer Notebook Slate. The Slate 500 has now been released, and comes as new HP’s marketing device.
Be careful of the Fake Microsoft Security Essentials

The recent malware attack has been circulating all over the net as either hotfix. exe or mstsc. exe--both reasonably benign and was claimed in form of red flags with some users.
Microsoft Security Essentials is considered to be a legal program, but it comes with a drive-by-download, rogue antivirus version. The Microsoft Security Essentials brand, including the little blue fortified castle icon which apparently is the warning signal.
