On Wednesday, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd posted its January-March profits which were the highest in the last three quarters. The main reason for its good performance is attributed to the sturdy demand of its Galaxy S6 flagship smartphones that has been newly launched in the market. The company said that it expects the second expects earnings to increase too.

On Wednesday, some rumours about Samsung approaching BlackBerry for sales deal shot up its shares nearly by 30%.
A report said that Samsung the South Korean firm has approached BlackBerry for buying the company in an offer of nearly $7.5 billion.
On Thursday, a source said that there is a shuffle in the top ranks of Samsung Electronics Co Ltd and three of the deputies to the head of the mobile division are leaving the company. The decision comes at a time when the largest maker of largest smartphone in the world is facing a steep decline in its profit figures.
This year, South Korea's biggest corporation, Samsung Group, has been quickly reconsolidating its different affiliates to alleviate control over them. It has been intending to put most of its focus and streamline its major businesses which include electronics, construction and finance, and construction.
A news paper reported that Samsung, the electronics company from South Korea has applied for a licence for investing $3 billion, for setting up a mobile phone plant in northern Vietnam. This will be the second one of its kind in the country.
Samsung Electronics will be investing US$14.7 billion to construct a new chip plant in South Korea. The new set up will help to meet the increasing demand from smartphones venturing into computing and the rapidly growing market of 'Internet of Things.'
The factory will be constructed in a 790,000 square meter location in Godeok Industrial Complex in Pyeongtaek.
