Nova Scotia woman detained in Dubai for aggressive behavior

A Nova Scotia woman, Nicole Stroop-Gillis, 34, was detained in Dubai, for being drunk and behaving aggressively with an airport official during a stopover in the Middle Eastern country.

On October 1, Gillis was traveling from Kandahar Airfield, where she was working as a civilian supply technician. Her destination was South Africa, where she was flying to meet her boyfriend, and in between her trip she was supposed to stop in Dubai for 15 hours. She has also been accused for showing disrespect toward a male security official during the stop.
