H7N9 Outbreak Costs Poultry Industry over 400 Billion Yuan

According to recent reports from the government officials, the H7N9 bird flu outbreak has incurred cost of over 400 billion yuan to the poultry industry of the country.
Li Xirong, the Head of the National Animal Husbandry Service, said that an average of about one billion yuan a day is being lost by the sector since the end of March. The condition has affected about 130 people across China.

Two Chinese provinces announced an end to their emergency response to the H7N9 bird flu on Friday. The emergency response was ended after no new human infections were reported in the past 21 days, said authorities.
The provincial governments of Jiangsu and Shandong, both in eastern China, declared to end the level-IV emergency response to the H7N9 avian influenza outbreak.
