China PLAIn wake of a strong protest to oppose Chinese control over Hong Kong, Chinese army recently invited local residents to its Stonecutters Island base to attend a special event, apparently to make them feel easy under Chinese rule.

Nearly 15,000 of the invited local residents were given a chance to try out guns and troop over frigates at its Stonecutters Island base. They also watched a patriotic song & dance show.

H9N2On Monday, Hong Kong's Centre for Health Protection told that an 86-year-old man tested positive for influenza A H9N2. Currently, the man is in stable condition. A H9N2 is a strain of avian flu. The man who is suffering from influenza is a Hong Kong dweller living in Shenzhen, China.

A sputum sample from the patient was taken and tested for the avian flu strain by the CHP's Public Health Laboratory Services Branch.

The woman who died in Jiangxi was 73 years old. She was admitted to hospital on November 30 with severe pneumonia, but she succumbed to the illness on December 6.

The first case of the virus is said to be a domestic worker, 36, from Indonesia. It is said that she has travelled to Shenzhen in the mainland and have come into contact with poultry.
