As per a new study which got published in the British Medical Journal Open, babies who share beds with their parents are at five-fold risk of cot death, even though the parents are non-smokers. But the researchers also admit the risk of such deaths starts getting decreased with the baby getting older.
Family Dog Badly Hurts Two-Year-Old Child

According to police, a toddler was badly hurt when he was attacked by the family dog. The two-year-old boy has suffered serious facial injuries.
Emergency services were called to an address in Gilbert Road, Cummersdale, near Carlisle, at around 2.40pm on Wednesday. He was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary where he underwent surgery.

As per a study published in Lancet, intellect of those newborns in the UK can get hampered whose mother while pregnancy was suffering with mild iodine deficiency.
The researchers got these results by involving 1,000 families, which showed that the mothers having too little iodine while pregnancy have pupils whose IQ and reading scores were low.

Researchers Say Ginger Can Ease Effects of Asthma

As per claims made by a new study, a blend of asthma drugs with ginger can turn them more effective. The researchers detected that the components of the peppery root act together with the medicine called the beta-agonists for calming down the airways.
It was discovered that the addition of the ginger compounds to the medicine increased the relaxation of airway smooth muscle tissue samples in the laboratory trials.
SDB may be Linked to Alzheimer's: Research

According to reports, a new research has found a link between Alzheimer's disease and a disorder called sleep-disordered breathing (SDB).
The researchers say that the problem may be an early sign of the dementia. The term SDB refers to conditions that have impact on breathing during sleep. Most common of these is obstructive sleep apnoea.
