Milton Hershey School Proposes Shifting of Case for Convenience

Milton Hershey School Proposes Shifting of Case for ConvenienceIt has been revealed in a recent report that the Milton Hershey School, which has been facing a HIV-related civil lawsuit filed by an anonymous teenager, is being expected to travel to Philadelphia for court hearing.

According to the findings of the report, a teenager boy from Delaware County was refused for admission by the school as he was tested positive for HIV. Thus, he had filed a court case against the school as it had tended to violate the boy's civil rights. Also, the school had equally offended the Americans with Disability Act, which was a crime as per the law.

It is being said that the case had been filed by the boy Philadelphia and the AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania has asked the U. S. District Court in Philadelphia to keep the case with them only. The reason why it has been urging a federal judge of the court to do so is the demand of the school to transfer the case to Harrisburg.

It has been known by the report that Harrisburg is nearly 15 miles from the boarding school that was the foundation of the popular chocolate merchant Hershey. And the school has been requesting to shift the case there for convenience purposes.

However, the school has earned billions of dollars over years and the boy is poor, claimed the AIDS law group, boiling down the motion proposed by the school. The boy's lawyer Ronda Goldfein has avowed, "The move would simply shift the inconvenience of a two-hour commute to a low-income family". Ruling on the motion by the court is being expected earlier as possible. Though, it has not been disclosed when the court would take an action, says the report.
