Teams from Pakistan and England have been scheduled to play two T-20 international matches at the Dubai Sports City Stadium before the starting of ICC T20 world cup. England team is currently in South Africa while team Pakistan has been taking its assignments in Australia.

UAE cricket authorities, according to a popular sports website, stated, "Discussions are progressing between both cricket boards and the series of two twenty20 international matches to be scheduled after Pakistan's Australia tour."

Both teams would rush to Dubai for T20 international series after completing their international assignments. Team Pakistan had a busy schedule in recent month as it played a three-match one-day international series and two T20 matches against Kiwis and United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan has been facing internal security issues due to repeated militant attacks on its cities forcing teams across the world to avoid their tours due to security concerns. Recently, New Zealand refused to take a full series with Pakistan on its home turf stating security threat to its team.

The development led to splitting the series in to two parts and matches were played in UAE and New Zealand.
