Doctor Arrested After Death of Three PatientsA Doctor has been arrested on the suspicion of three counts of murder after a complaint was filed in the death of three patients because of the overdose of drugs she prescribed. The California Medical Board investigators arrested the 42- year- old Hsiu-Ying "Lisa" Tseng for a second degree murder of three young men in their 20s.

The doctor had prescribed three of her patients, Vu Nguyen, Steven Ogle and Joseph Rovero III, with a cocktail of drugs like Methadone, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Oxymorphone and Suboxone, which is a bit odd and suspicious.

In addition to the murder, she is being tried for 20 felony counts for prescribing drugs with a non-legitimate purpose. She is being held in lieu of $3 million bail. If convicted, she could end up facing a life term imprisonment. The process of cancelling her medical license which she got in 1997 is also underway.

When asked for comments from Doctor’s husband who is operating the clinic in her absence, he had no comments to offer regarding her arrest.

The investigations under way have also revealed that this practice of prescribing drugs without examination have been conducted by Tseng, a numerous times earlier also. Another shocking incident that came out of the investigations is that she prescribed a woman up to 900 tablets a month, which is far exceeding the safety standards of the FDA.

L. A County District Attorney, Steve Cooley termed her as “Dr. Feelgoods”, who without any good reason, prescribed drugs to patients who were willing to pay some extra money. He was also concerned about increase in the prescription drug overdose cases and blamed doctors like Tseng for misusing their power.
