There is good news for cancer patients. It has been reported that a universal drug for cancer has been found. The newly found treatment is capable of treating almost 90% of all types of cancer. The most common type of cancers breast cancer and prostate cancer are also treatable by the newly found treatment.
The newly discovered molecule called MUC1 has showed fruitful results in the preliminary tests. The molecule is found on the surface of the cancer. The researchers studying the molecule are of the view that it can help immune system in detecting the cancer.
Cancer cells are capable of misleading the immune system. When the immune system comes in contact with the cancer cell, the immune system doesn’t perceive the cancer cells as a threat. Using the molecule formula a drug is now being formulated by the Vaxil Biotheraputics. Researchers of Tel Aviv University have also taken part in the creation of the drug.
If the drug is created and introduced for the clinical use then it can prevents millions of lives from being affected with cancer. The Vaxil Biotheraputics was reported as saying, “ImMucin generated a robust and specific immune response in all patients which was observed after only 2-4 doses of the vaccine out of a maximum of 12 doses. In some of the patients, preliminary signs of clinical efficacy were observed”.
It is estimated that it would take six years for the vaccination to be introduced in the markets. The cancer patients till then have to rely over the traditional cancer treatment. Cancer is a deadly disease, which affects millions of lives all over the world. It is hoped that the efforts of the researchers would help in coming up with effective ways of treating cancer patients.
