It has been recently revealed in a report that there is need for efforts to be made by the authorities to improve the staffing levels of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children situated in Glasgow. The authorities are concerned that if proper steps aren’t taken for safeguarding the position and capacity of employees, the place might tend to become unsafe for the patients in the time to come.
The report is of the view that three surgeons "impeded an ability to deliver a safe surgical rota around-the-clock as required by the standards. Work was not evenly distributed between the surgeons, who left the panel to express concerns over sustainability”.
There were 140 operations one by one doctor in a year and this shows how limited the staff is how the hospital has to struggle each day to fulfill the needs of the patients. This calls for the need for efforts to be made by the authorities to manage the staffing levels of the hospital so that there can be equal distribution of staff, and the patient staff ratio comes to a similar level. This is important so that patients don’t have to suffer further due to shortage in the time to come.
