It has been revealed in a report recently that workers in Australia are getting least help from their employers on part of their health, despite huge requests for the same.
Not only politicians or drivers, but almost anyone in any profession and even stay-at-home parents are being a victim of obesity day by day. Obesity is one of the biggest problems in the country these days, the report says, which causes some $637 million every year.
Though, exercise after job or alcohol consumption with friends after a tiring week may prove helpful in getting relaxation for employees. It is being said that workers often even fail to get time for these or sometimes, workplace drinking culture results conversely by making them overweight.
A survey carried out by Weight Watchers team has found that almost 52% of employees had complaints regarding only little or no help from their employers. They had also reported that the working hours are so long that they found no time for gym or other activity.
“We’re calling on Australian employers to embrace initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles and bring positive change to attitudes towards health in the workplace”, Managing Director Joseph Saad from Weight Watchers Australasia said.
