A recent report confirmed hospitalization of some nine people after they got involved in an accident near Macosquin. It was after the ambulance transporting patients to the Altnagelvin Hospital in Londonderry crashed with number of cars that so many were injured.
Though there was no fatal injury reported, it certainly affected many. As soon as the accident happened, patients were taken to the hospital by another ambulance. Among all the patients, one suffered from a head injury and was sent to hospital at Antrim, while others were taken to nearby Causeway hospital.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service has all words of thanks for the St John ambulance crew which helped them at such difficult juncture. "A passing St John ambulance stopped to assist and transported a number of patients with minor injuries to the hospital. NIAS would like to thank this crew for their assistance”, said a spokesperson from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
Furthermore, it was confirmed that the ambulance was on its way to the Altnagelvin Hospital from the Causeway Hospital carrying patients but it was somewhere around 3.30pm that the crash happened. It is expected that soon all patients would make recovery and things would be back to normal.
