While an approach to fight polio has been in scene since prolonged years, a new campaign organized Rotary this year has been joined by a massive number of Indian Olympic Athletes, a latest report finds.
As per the belief of the Rotary group, the Olympics would form the best ground for spreading the message, thereby helping eradicate the disease. Rotary International consists of WHO, UNICEF and Rotary and is working under the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.
However, not a single case is seen for more than one whole year in the nation, it is but being said that some precautionary measures would ensure halt in its recurrence. "This Close" is being seen with the registration of dozens of Olympic participants from India, who are moving with the initiative `polio free India'.
It has been found that no matter he is from a wrestling team or boxing champ or a weightlifter, all have voluntarily joined in so as to make their bit for the country. The report finds that people are being asked to get their children vaccinated against the evil so as to prevent the same.
A message by boxer Vijender Singh said, "Polio vaccine can save a child from polio paralysis. Let us ensure that children are not paralysed by giving them the vital drops".
