A simple and quick formula for weight loss is considered to be dieting among women across all age groups. However, it is not the first time when it has been said that dieting does not help even a bit.
Battle of weight loss among post-menopausal women gets even stiffer, as they are already battling with a drop in energy levels and going on dieting makes things worse for them.
In that scenario, there are simple things that women over 50 years need to inculcate in their daily routine, said Dr. Bethany Barone Gibbs, who have carried out a study on the matter. Gibbs from the University of Pittsburgh was of the view that one thing that women should keep in mind is say no to dieting.
Rather they should bring some healthy changes in their eating habits. More vegetables and fruits, and less of fast food and complete no to desserts, are some of the ways, which have been found to be quite effective in reducing weight.
Gibbs said that he has studied approximately 500 post-menopausal women to reach at the above given conclusion. "Eating fruits and vegetables may not make as big a difference in your caloric intake. But that small change can build up and give you a better long-term result”, further asserted Gibbs.
