Bahwan Contracting Company (BCC), a subsidiary of Bahwan Engineering Group, would construct the new headquarters of Oman Arab Bank (OAB) at Al Ghubra according to an agreement signed between the both firms. Rashad Al Zubair, Chairman, OAB and S K Virmani, MD, Bahwan Contracting Company signed the deal in the presence of officials from both sides.
An official from the company said that construction work would be completed in 18 months and it would cost around RO9.60 million. The new headquarters would come up in a built-up area of 22,000 square meters which would house basement, ground and nine floors, making optimum use of the available space.
Oman Arab Bank Chairman-Rashad Al Zubair, said, "We trust that Bahwan Contracting Company as well as Khatib & Alami and Partners will ensure that our future head office building reflects OAB's image and the Sultanat's culture. We hope to further work together on future projects."
The new building will be equipped with electromechanical services (MEP), elevator installations and standby power generation for serving the current and future needs of the bank by consolidating all its departments under one roof and convenient location.
