Dubai's ruler H. H. the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Syrian President Bashar Al Assad held a round of official talks on Friday, discussing matters of mutual interest and co-operation.
The meeting at the Doha Four Season Hotel was also attended by H. E. Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani and the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al Mu''alim and Presidential Advisor for Political and Media Affairs Buthaina Sha''aban.
Leaders from both sides also discussed various national and international issues of common concern and vowed to excel diplomatic and trade ties between two nations. The two sides also took up the Palestinian issue and called for making national reconciliation and lifting the Israeli occupation on the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip.
They also discussed the strategy to be adopted at the forthcoming Arab summit to be held in Libya at the end of next March. Both sides expressed commitment to come up with full preparations at the summit for meeting the aspirations of Arab people.
