Ahmed al-Jaber pins hopes on green dreams

Ahmed al-Jaber pins hopes on green dreamsMasdar Chairman Sultan Ahmed al-Jaber has said that country's growth prospectus would depend on its green initiatives through Masdar, the Abu Dhabi government's green investment vehicle and this process of transformation would yield a fruitful outcome for the country.

Dr Jaber hailed the green initiatives taken by the organization for glorifying the profile of Abu Dhabi. He added, "Abu Dhabi has always been known as a global energy player, but with Masdar it set out the responsibility of oil nations and what is required of them to help create a balance between hydrocarbons and renewable energy."

Dr. Jaber has an opportunity to find a respectable place in his organization solely on merit notwithstanding the fact that majority of powerful positions have been occupied by the members of ruling family.

The organization, through a postgraduate research body the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MI), has been paying special focus on research and development activities into renewable energy and sustainability.

Dr. Jaber further expressed, "Masdar covers the whole value chain of the green sector including education, seed capital, research and development, manufacturing, building, reduction of carbon emissions, CDM and investment in mature companies."
