Higgs Boson, which was discovered a year back by physicists at the LHC, was earlier being deemed to be highly beneficial to know the secrets of the universe. But, a team of researchers from the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Batavia, has now warned that the same may mean a disaster for the universe.

The main ingredient hinting towards the space and time future is the God particle's mass, as per the report. The mass was unveiled by members of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva.

The ingredient has given a clear hint that a catastrophe could be there tens of billions of years ahead from now. The report said that the sub-atomic particle is nothing but an energy field. And this field is probably saturating the universe, known as the Higgs field. The particle was, however, expected to uncover the logic behind particles having mass.

To ensure the particle's identity, more data is still required, the team said. Scientists have been still saying that it is the Higgs.

'It may be the universe we live in is inherently unstable, and at some point billions of years from now it's all going to get wiped out", theoretical physicist Joseph Lykken was quoted as saying.
