Annual flu vaccinations for all recommended

vaccinationsAll Americans will be vaccinated every year for battling swine flu that took several lives this time.

A government panel has recommended this which will be starting this fall.

Expanding its recommendation for flu shots, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices has already included 85 per cent of Americans.

The panel on Wednesday voted for a seasonal flu vaccination for all Americans except those who are suffering from egg allergies and babies who are younger than six months.

The recommendation would be forwarded to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC spreads a message to hospitals across America following the panel's advice.

Dr Anthony Fiore, a CDC flu specialist, said, "Now no one should say 'Should I or shouldn't I?”

In reality the percentage of Americans getting flu shots are 33 per cent and millions of doses get thrown away annually.

For the recommendation, the panel voted 11 to 0 with one abstention.

Dr Gregory Poland, a Mayo Clinic infectious diseases exper, who has been favoring flu shot for all for years now said, "Yet every year we wasted millions and millions of doses."
