Qatar Airways, currently operating 80 aircraft, has doubled its fleet size in a period of past five years. It has been still trying to expand its fleet size and will soon get delivery of its 15th Boeing 777 ER aircrafts for adding more destinations in its chart on different routes.
The airline, one of the fastest-growing airlines in the world, is set to get almost one plane in every month and the trend would increase its fleet size to 120 aircrafts by 2013. The airline is drawing plans to add more routes by next three years.
Akbar Al Baker, the Airline's Chief Executive Officer, while speaking to media in the sidelines of a trade show in Hyderabad, told, "As our fleet increases, we are able to raise capacity on existing services and introduce new routes."
Meanwhile, the airline has rolled out flights to Bangalore in southern India in lines with its global expansion program for 2010. It has recently started additional flights to Kuala Lumpur and Bali.
