YouTube Plan to Offer Application Designed Especially for ChildrenTo extend its audience base, Google Inc. is now planning to invest in technology especially designed for children. The company is seeking a new way to go beyond its popular tools and adult appropriate contents.

Google's, YouTube will be rolling out a service that has been especially planned for children. The service will be called, YouTube Kids app and will feature content that intends to create a safer environment for kids. According to the company, it will include videos that are age-appropriate and will also contain channels and playlists for children.

The service will be available from February 23. It also includes features that allow parental control and enables limitations on time, searches and sound.

Through the Google Play store, the new application will be offered in the U. S. It will be available to devices that are equipped with the Android operating system. Partners in this new project include National Geographic, DreamWorks TV and The Jim Henson Co.

Stephen Balkam, the CEO of the Family Online Safety Institute said, "It is compelling, informative, entertaining and parents will be pleased they can easily set time limits. My hope is that it will open the door for even more great content for kids."
