Dubai Taxi Corporation Signs Contract with Seven Schools for Transporting Students

Dubai-TaxiIn a recent move, the Roads and Transport Authority’s, Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) signed contracts with seven Dubai schools and will be transporting approximately 2,500 students in their hundred and eleven school buses newly designed for the purpose. The services will start from the coming academic year 2015-16.

The schools are namely, German School, Dar Al Marefa, Dubai Modern Education, St Mary’s, Hartland International, Al Ittihad Jumeirah and Al Ittihad Al Mamzar School. They will be awarded the Official School Transporter certificate.

Signing of the contract was marked by a ceremony organized at the Head Office of the RTA. The eminent personalities present for the occasion were CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation, Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Director of Corporate Affairs, Mohammed Yousef, Director of School Transport, Mohammed Abu Bakr Al Hashmi, and Director of Business Development at the DTC, Abdullah Al Meer.

The new buses are designed with the latest technologies including CCTV cameras and are the first of their kinds in the Middle East. They are designed with a body that is stronger than the regular vehicles so that can be protected to a greater degree against collisions. Apart from that an SMS service will allow the parents to be notified about their wards safe arrival. On top of this the buses have a tracking system using GIS technology.
