TheGulf Education and Training Exhibition (Getex) has opened to the general public on Wednesday in Dubai attracting students, parents and those associated with the education fielding eh region and beyond.
Hundreds of school studentsevaluated a host ofUAE and foreign universities at this year's edition of the conference. The event is described as one of the leading student recruitment platforms in the Middle East and Asia. The event, which is organised by the UAE's Ministry of Education, included several universities in the country as well as other nations looking to attract students to study in their programmes.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. Students said that the Universities in UAE offer multi-cultural classrooms, safe environment, high global ratings, and better job opportunities but also said that the cost of education is much higher in the country. India is a popular education destination for the students form the country, which offers a huge cost advantage. Getex will also focus on occupational and applied education, professional development and training besides academic programmes.
Shaikh Al Nahyan said that the success of the event is a matter of pride for the country as it is considered an important achievement. "Over the past few years, Ge-tex has proven itself as a strong impetus for national efforts aimed at investing in the potential of human capital through the opening of new prospects for the students to know about the latest academic, educational and training programs that will keep them at pace with the demands and requirements of the labor market in the 21st century," he said.
