Google will reportedly announce new home router product on Oct. 4

According to an Android Police report, tech giant Google is apparently getting ready to launch a new Wi-Fi router - likely to be dubbed 'Google Wi-Fi' - next month, at an event in San Francisco.

The new Google Wi-Fi home router product being prepared by Google will reportedly be one of the products which the bigwig tech company will announce at its multi-device release event scheduled to be held on October 4, 2016.

Going by the details shared in the Android Police report, the new Google Wi-Fi router will be priced at $129; and will be fairly akin in appearance to the 'white Amazon Echo Dot.' In addition, the report has also revealed that the router will have mesh Wi-Fi capabilities; thereby implying that more than one Google Wi-Fi routers can be linked together for improved coverage.

The announcement of the Google Wi-Fi home router is expected to come alongside the expected October 4 release of a few other Google devices, including the company's much-rumored Pixel smartphones; the Google Home speaker; and a 4K-capable Chromecast version called Chromecast Ultra.

Moreover, it has also been speculated in some other reports that Google might also launch its Daydream VR and Google Home at the October 4 event.
