It has been reported that fading can provide a great help in protecting the personal records of the visitors on the sites from leakage.
These records sometimes carry sensitive information, the leakage of which can create problems for the users. Moreover, the safeguards available on the sites are not much strong and they cannot completely assure you that the personal data is in safe hands.
A privacy expert says, "People make mistakes, people can be bribed. You cannot protect this data, you cannot be sure it's not been disclosed, privacy policies are simply too weak".
Thus, fading of the data can definitely enhance security, which means chances of this information being disclosed can be avoided, if the data is degraded.
Dr. Van Heerde from the University of Twente is gathering different ways by which files containing information about the users can be changed and cosseted.
It has been noticed that the websites generally require the name of their users, their e-mail ids, their addresses etc., for various purposes.
Researchers stated that there is no need for the Companies to gather so much information about their users and even if they are taking the information, there is no reason to store that data for a long time. The data should be swapped, as soon as possible.
