The oil pipeline which was designated to cross most of the UAE's barren desert for the purpose of transporting massive amount of crude oil from the oilfield's to the Indian Ocean was completed by Abu Dhabi according to the Emirates Business 24/7.
In December, before the project is fully operative, the oil is commissioned to flow on trial basis, as per the project operators. When the project is fully operational, it will allow Abu Dhabi to avoid the Hormuz Strait from where nearly a fifth of the world's crude oil is exported every day.
Mr. Khadem Al Qubaisi who is the Managing Director of the govt. owned International Petroleum Company said that they have completed the project.
He further said that next month they will start pumping the oil on trial basis. He further said that the company which has been contracted for the construction of the pipeline has finished the all the phases of the project which had involved 400 kilometers pipeline which had linked Habshan area to the eastern coast of the UAE for transporting 1.5 million barrels per day of crude oil.
