ADHD can be improved by controversial diet

ADHDA new study has stated that kids who have ADHD or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder can be helped by giving them a restrictive diet. This can also help them in doing away with their medications.

Researchers from the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre in the Netherlands stated that when there was a comparison made between children who were on the diet and children who were not, it was seen that those on diet were less impulsive and hyperactive.

For about five weeks, in 100 kids, the researcher observed behaviors.

It was stated that the diet is very restrictive and includes only or nearly vegetables, water, rice and white meat. It has also been claimed by some experts that behavioral problems might trigger among kids who are given a restricted diet as they start fighting with parents for foods that they do not get.

Study researcher Jan Buitelaar said, “We don't claim that foods with sugar, artificial colorings and added preservatives cause hyperactivity and are related to ADHD, but that they might trigger an immune reaction that sets off ADHD symptoms.”
