Donate Organ to Help One Live

Donate Organ to Help One LiveDuring an opening ceremony of Westfield Health British Transplant Games, the organ donors were welcomed with standing ovation and applause at the Waterfront auditorium. Every year about 600 lives are saved by the organ donation.

The event was so moving that tears turned up in the eyes of the audience. During the event one of the athletes from Northern Ireland, who won a bronze medal in the event, became emotional while paying her gratitude to the organ donors.

It has been reported that the athlete, Johanne Tinsley, had her liver transplanted ten years ago. In her speech dedicated to the organ donors, she said, “I just owe my donor and their family such a debt of gratitude for their generous gift of life. I get emotional just talking about it. I know my donor was a young man who was killed in an accident. You’re encouraged to write to the donor family and I did, although I never heard anything back”.

There are a number of cases when donors have helped someone live happily in this world. Organ donation is a humble deed which gives another chance to a patient to live. There are a few kids who are born with defected organs. Therefore, people should come forward to help someone live by donating an organ during their life or after it.
