Fifty-one years old Barry Fowers has been asked to take voluntary redundancy as he was considered as a threat to others as well as himself because he weighed a life-threatening 30 stone.
Until October last year he worked assembling industrial power source equipment.
And due to insurance analysts deciding that he was a major risk for others, Fowers reluctantly accepted voluntary redundancy.
Radiotherapy in UK lags behind

Experts have stated that in UK a very few cancer patients are getting state-of-the-art radiotherapy care.
According to the Cancer Research UK, CRUK, about seven per cent people have an access to a new type of radiotherapy and the percentage of people getting this care in Europe is 20.
Mental illness is not the only cause of crime

It has been stated by a British study that a person does not commit violent crimes due to severe mental illness alone. The cause for this as described by researchers from Oxford University is substance abuse.
It was also noted by researchers that there was a 10 times more chance of alcohol and drug abuse among people suffering from bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.

The World Suicide Prevention Day is on September 10 and wherever you are you can show your support by lighting a candle near your window at 8 pm.
This activity is taking place for the first time on this day that is observed annually.
2 Quebec hospitals to shut down

According to the government officials, while undergoing major renovations, the Baie-St.-Paul hospital in Quebec's Charlevoix region will be demolished and another hospital in Malbaie will be closed.
It was determined by a provincial government study that the standards to withstand earthquakes were not met by the hospitals, which are about 50 kilometres apart.
RCMP threatens to revoke funding

A thinly veiled threat to revoke funding of a university program was issued by the RCMP, the head of the criminology school at Simon Fraser University stated. And this happened because of his criticism of the Robert Pickton investigation.
According to the RCMP brass, the intention of the email was not as stated but questions were being raised by the way it was written.
120 hot dogs recalled

A public warning was issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) about a specific lot of Lafleur-brand Original hot dogs that they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The product carries an expiry date of October 22.
In areas like Montreal, Laval, Lanaudière, Laurentides, Montérégie five cases of this product were distributed only in Quebec.
