It is important to take a Pap test and women who have failed to do so in two years are being encouraged to get a test as soon as possible as November 5 will be a Pap Test Screening Day at the Comox Valley Nursing Centre.

A federal lawsuit has been filed by a Pennsylvania couple and it has been stated by them that county officials took their newborn after it was found in a drug test that the mother had eaten a poppy seed bagel that made the test positive.
Places for specialist MDs added by Ontario

Province's health minister stated that 75 new specialist residency positions will be created by Ontario's medical schools.
Health Minister Deb Matthews announced the new post-graduate residency spots for specialists such as psychiatrists and surgeons.
'Movember' to start soon

Movember which will start on November 1 will spread awareness on prostate cancer and fundraising will be done by Prostate Cancer Canada.
Residents are being encouraged by local realtor Byron Maier and he is spreading the lingo so that residents get encouraged to participate in 'Movember'.
It is very easy for men who want to participate in Movember and 'Mo' is slang for moustache.
Fewer unwanted pets with spay-neuter clinics

There will be fewer unwanted animals, atleast this is what the city officials are hoping after spay and neuter clinics have been opened up recently for pets. Low-incomes pet owners will be benefitted the most from this program.

Halloween has been associated with witches, supernatural powers and ghouls. There are often myths like poisoned candies, satanic rituals and razor blades in apples that are circulated every year.
Reports state that there is a little truth in these myths.

The process of lodging a formal compliant against the Interior Health Authority is in process by the family of 24-year-old Owen Rooney who is a backpacker who has gone missing.
Leaving the Grand Forks Hospital Rooney was last seen August 14. During an altercation at Christina Lake, Rooney was treated for injuries he received.
