Tokyo-headquartered Honda Motor Company has announced that the 2024 Honda Prologue crossover SUV will arrive next year with a targeted range of 300 miles and estimated starting price tag of $40,000. The 2024 Honda Prologue shares dimensions with the Passport SUV, both in terms of length and width. It boasts a spacious 121.8-inch wheelbase, surpassing that of ICE-powered equivalent SUV. Its exterior design exudes a sleek and refined aesthetic; while slender headlights, a silky black grille panel, and refined air curtains on the bumper corners contribute to its contemporary & elegant appearance. At the rear, there is new “Honda:e” typeface that effectively replaces the traditional logo badge, giving it a distinctive look.

While Honda has kept the Prologue’s exact drag coefficient under wraps, it revealed that the EX and Touring models feature 19-inch wheels, while the Elite model has 21-inch wheels, all of which have been prudently adjusted to minimalize air turbulence. Remarkably, these larger alloy wheels are the largest ever fitted to a production model of the brand.

Inside the Prologue, the driver will get Google Built-In as standard feature on every trim level of the EV, in addition to an 11-inch digital gauge cluster and an 11.3-inch infotainment display, promising eye-catching graphics and responsiveness. The technology seamlessly integrates the Play app store, Google Maps, Assistant etc., enhancing the overall connectivity as well as convenience for drivers and passengers alike.

The base version of the Honda Prologue will be front-wheel drive (FWD) with an undisclosed power output, likely offering the best range and efficiency when combined with smaller wheels on certain trims. The AWD version promises 288 hp and 333 lb-ft of torque, providing robust performance. The estimated range of the upcoming EV, with an 85.0-kWh battery pack, is 300 miles. However, this impressive range decreases to around 260 miles when we opt for AWD variant with larger wheels. Charging options include an 11.5-kW at-home charger, a 7.6-kW movable charger, or a charging credit for those individuals who don’t need a home charger.

Honda has set an ambitious goal of achieving 100 per cent zero-emission vehicle sales by the end of 2040. Thus, the Prologue is just the beginning, and the renowned brand will continue to introduce new EVs in the coming years. In 2025, the brand will launch a new battery-powered vehicle based on its innovative “e: Architecture” platform, further expanding its range of versatile EV offerings.
