Suffolk County Council to Entrust Care Homes to Care UK

Care-HomesSuffolk County Council has decided to disburse an amount of £60 million to Mildenhall's care home provision, as per a latest report. Tuesday, a meeting was held in between the council's cabinet members, wherein it was decided that the 16 residential homes of it would all be handed over now to Care UK.

It has been told that all the facilities, including Wamil Court in Mildenhall along with eight community well-being centres, would now be turned into purpose-built homes, 10 in number. These would also comprise of a few wellbeing centres.

The same means that some centers have to be closed and this list would consist of Great Heath Primary School, which is in St John's Close. It would probably close later this month. The other one is Wamil Court opened in 1960s, which would be put to closure by May 2014 permanently.

As per the findings, almost 15 months have been consumed over this stringent process to ensure that Suffolk's older and vulnerable people get the best services at the end.

"I believe the decision taken today will provide surroundings and facilities that will meet care needs both now and way into the future", Member for Health and Adult Care Cllr Colin Noble was quoted as affirming.
