Abu Dhabi sets to host UFC 112

UFC-112Abu Dhabi will host the UFC 112 at a specially-built venue at the Ferrari World in Yas Island on April 10 as UFC has officially given its nod for the event. This would be the first UFC event to be held in open air arena, said Lorenzo Fertitta, the co-owner of the UFC, recalling the days in the early Eighties when boxing competition was held in Caesar's Palace car park.

Fertitta added, "The facility that is going to be constructed at Ferrari World on Yas Island going to be built just for this event. This is the first arena we've ever gone to which has been designed specifically to host a UFC event."

Fertitta said that Emirates have all facilities for promoting and growing UFC like UK. So far 10 events have been successfully completed at the recently build permanent base and more are on card in next couple of months.

Meanwhile, UFC President Dana White said that historic night for the UFC is set to come as UFC 112 would be the first event to be held at the site with its new partners.

He further added, "This is one of the biggest and most significant nights in the history of the UFC," stated UFC President Dana White. "We are very happy we could deliver what fans around the world will recognize as a stacked card featuring the sport's biggest stars."
