Radio telescope Captures Sun
Dubbed as one of the greatest scientific adventures of all time, a telescope has spotted a blue and a red blob. This is an image of Sun. This is a maiden venture when the radio telescope has captured the Sun.
The radio telescope was present at a remote area of Western Australia. It was used by the scientists to capture the picture of Sun.
The scientists for the project have fleshed out the details of the project. It is a $51 million Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) radio telescope. It is one of the three elements of $2 billion "mega-science project". It has been dubbed as the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope.
The purpose of the project is to develop a telescope that is the world's largest and the most sensitive. The scientists appointed for the mission have disclosed the fact that the low-frequency component of the telescope will start in Australia in 2016.
It began with the Tuesday morning when the researchers started gathering data for the first time. The point was to check solar storms and search for stray FM audio signals. They wanted to see the dangerous space debris.
MWA will be utilized for future to comprehend the connection between the Earth and the Sun. According to the director of radio astronomy at Curtin University, Prof Tingay, "This is an exciting prospect for anyone who's ever looked up at the sky and wondered how the universe came to be".
