Bill Veghte Executive Vice President of HP Leaves the Company

Bill Veghte Executive Vice President of HP Leaves the CompanyOn Tuesday, Hewlett Packard made an announcement saying that its executive vice president, Bill Veghte is leaving the company. However no reason was elaborated for his departure.

Veghte played a major role in leading the company's attempt to divide into two separate businesses. The company wants to separate its two businesses, one focusing on the sale of data center gears to businesses and the other one focused on selling hardware like PC's and printers.

Veghte, who has been a Microsoft executive at the top rung came to HP and made a difference in the company. Many considered him to be the most probable successor of HP's CEO, Meg Whitman.

In a statement Whitman said, "From the moment he arrived at HP, Bill has made a huge difference. He brings energy, insight, and leadership to everything he does. I am grateful for all he did to help me lead HP through the turnaround and into the separation. I know Bill will continue to enjoy great success in the years to come." According to an announcement made by HP, Veghte's place will be taken up by Antonio Neri.

For the time being Neri was heading the enterprise group at HP as Veghte was busy sorting out the company's plans to divide itself into two.
