FireEye Inc Acquires iSight Partners
On Wednesday, FireEye, Inc., announced has acquired privately held company iSIGHT Partners for $200 million.
Both companies provide cyber threat intelligence used in stopping advanced cyber attacks. The transaction closed last week on January 14, 2016. The present customers of iSIGHT will carry on having access to the company's products.
Both the companies' customers will be benefited from lower business risk with more dependable alerts regarding issues of prioritizing threats and will also get strategic insights to organize proactively to battle threats which may be targeted at their region or industry.
The deal comes at a time when public as well as private cyber security firms have seen a sudden drop in valuations as some investors considered them to be too highly valued. The notion mainly cropped up as string of high-profile cyber attacks surfaced on the U. S. government and big companies like Target, Sony Corp and others. In recent months, a number of private tech companies in various other sectors also faced a sharp drop in valuation.
FireEye plans to create some new intelligence subscription models so that its present as well as new customers get a chance to buy new threat intelligence products which are designed exclusively for the specific requirements of their organization's threat profile.
