HTC partners RCom to launch Android smartphone in India
Taiwanese handset maker, HTC has entered into a partnership with Indian telecom service provider, Reliance Communications to launch a 3G smartphone based on the Android platform in the country.
HTC Wildfire will be available through the authorized HTC resellers across India, according to a statement from the company. The smartphone has a 3.2 inch touch screen and a 5-megapixel camera. RCom will offer 500 MB of free data usage for the first six months with the device.
Ajay Sharma, HTC India Country Head said, "The stylishly designed HTC Wildfire... brings all your communication requirements into one place, whether it's through Facebook, Orkut, Twitter, Flickr."
RCOM President of Marketing-Wireless Business, Mr. Mahesh Prasad expressed that the launch of this smartphone is part of company’s strategy to offer new features on mobile devices with high quality services.
The HTC Wildfire will be exclusively available on Reliance network and will be priced at Rs. 16,590. HTC is a leading smartphones manufacturer and sells various models based on Google’s Android platform around the world.
