Etihad starts new contact center in Manchester, UKEtihad Airways, the national carrier of UAE, would come up with a contact center in Manchester in Britain which is expected to become operational in 2012. The carrier already has contact centers in India and Australia.

James Hogan, Chief Executive officer of Etihad Airways, said on Thursday, “Our contact centers handle around 2.5 million calls each year, and we expect more than half of these calls to originate from non-Arabic speaking markets by 2012. As our network continues to grow, it is increasingly important for us to provide high quality, multilingual assistance for customers who choose to book directly with the airline.”

Meanwhile, Etihad Rail is also taking prestigious rail project valued Dh40 billion for offering nationwide rail connectivity. Nasser Al Suwaidi, chairman of the board of directors of Etihad Rail told that the nationwide rail network will prove boon for the country's economic development by offering an ideal logistics platform for current and future industries.

The rails would serve both passengers and freight by connecting e UAE to Saudi Arabia via Ghweifat in the west and to Oman via Al Ain in the east.
