GCC’s 36th meeting to set in motion on October 2, 2011
Preparations are on full swing for the 36th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Committee for Undersecretaries of Ministries of Finance and Economy scheduled to be held on October 2, 2011 at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The Ministry of Finance (MoF) is hosting the meeting.
In fact this meet would prove a marathon for the 91st GCC Financial & Economic Cooperation Committee which will be held the 91st GCC Financial & Economic Cooperation Committee.
The meeting will see officials holding deliberations on various issues important from commercial point of view. Moreover, plans by various committees as the Committee of Governors of Monetary Agencies and Central Banks would be taken during the meeting and finally an agenda would be prepared for taking up with the European Union (EU) and other countries and financial institutions.
HE Younis Haji Al Khouri, Undersecretary of MoF, said that the meeting will help to solve all issues related to GCC, both in the financial and commercial segment. He added, "The 36th meeting will also evaluate work progress of different joint GCC projects, in addition to reviewing the latest decisions issued by the GCC Supreme Council during its latest 31st session. It will also highlight the UAE's request to adopt electronic certificates of origin."
